What to do when the weather is bad? Sing!

01/10/2021 & edited on 26/09/2023

Let’s face it. It’s easier to work out when the sun is shining. Running in the park, biking in the city, walking on the beach,… When the weather is good, taking care of our physical health comes naturally.

However, fall has snuck upon us again 🍂
And I have good news for you! According to this study

The physiological demands of singing are comparable with walking at a moderately brisk pace.

But ehm… What about that addictive runner’s high? That amazing feeling is thought to be caused, at least in part, by the release of a group of feel-good chemicals called endocannabinoids – chemicals that have a very similar structure to the feel-good chemicals found in the cannabis plant.

Well, according to this study

Compared to cycling and dancing, singing showed the biggest increase in endocannabinoids of 42%, twice as much as the cycling.

This means that singing can give you a natural high, but also reduce anxiety and relieve chronic pain. And the great thing is that you don’t have to be good at it.

So from now on, if you normally rely on going outside for your daily workout, bad weather is not an excuse anymore.

Just stay inside and 🌟 SING! 🌟
It’s a great workout, it makes you happy ànd reduces anxiety and pain 🥳

As always, feel free to send me your thoughts, questions, and feedback in the comments below this blog, via the contact form or in the singsing! online community ❤️

Cordially,

Sarah
